Italy Tours – Start with Rome
When planning a European vacation and looking for deals Italy is a great county to consider for your holiday plans. Remarkable sites and comparatively low prices make Italy tours one of the most popular.
Of course, Rome is one of the favorite destinations to visit in most Italy tours, as you can imagine. Roma, (Rome) is an exciting mixture of lively modern hospitality along with very ancient reminders of its long history.
As the capital of Italy, Rome boasts great museums, ancient architecture, fountains from Renaissance times alongside fine dining establishments, sidewalk cafes, exciting nightspots and plenty of sunshine. Fortunately, if your time is short, the historic center is fairly compact even though the city itself is enormous.
Located on the west coast of Central Italy, not far from the coast, it has a main port of Civitavecchia where the cruise ships dock when they visit Rome.
You can also enter Rome via train, and the main train station, Stazione Termini is very near the historic central district. If you are traveling all around the country by bus, you can plan to arrive near the Termini train station or in Piazzale Tiburtina, which is in front of the Tiburtina train station. Many people fly directly into Rome’s airport, Fiumicino, which is a major international airport. A train can then take you into the city as you’ll be smart to avoid driving in Rome.
You really won’t need to drive in Rome as Rome has a very extensive bus and metro system so you can go almost anywhere easily. The only thing to be aware of when riding in crowded trains or buses is that pickpockets are everywhere. It’s a good idea to get a travel pouch that you wear around your neck and under your shirt for your valuables.
What to wear:
Rome naturally has a Mediterranean climate and it can be sometimes extremely hot in the summer. Probably the best weather is to be found in the Fall (late September and October) and in the Spring during April and May.

The Roman Forum - Known as the Foro Romano, this was the focal point of Republican Rome and the monuments span over 900 years of Roman history.
The Pantheon is one of the most well preserved of Rome’s ancient buildings. Beginning as a pagan temple it later was used as a church. The piazza in front is a beautiful spot in the evening where you can sit and have a drink.
