The forgotten city of Pompeii was destroyed in 79 AD by a volcanic eruption of Mt. Vesuvius. The city of ruins is rich in culture and bleeds history and is home to some of the most unique architectural artistry in Europe. Italy is best travelled in the spring and fall months, April-May and October-November will offer up the mildest temperatures.
